FRANCIS UPRITCHARD: POST FAIR

At Post-Fair, ANTON KERN GALLERY will present a focused installation of works by Francis Upritchard spanning the past decade of her practice. The presentation brings together polymer figures, ceramic and glass vessels, and bronze hands and figures arranged on a bespoke display unit.

February 26 - 29, 2026

Encountered both as discrete sculptures and as elements within a larger, deliberately composed environment, the works resist linear chronology or categorical organization. The display is not structured by medium or date; instead, it proposes an alternative order in which attention is guided by proximity, repetition, and difference.

This mode of assembly is central to Upritchard’s practice. Since the early 2000s, she has become known for installations that evoke museological or anthropological displays—groupings of objects that appear at once familiar and estranged, suggestive of cultural histories yet resistant to precise geographic or temporal placement. Materials ranging from balata rubber to glass, wood-fired ceramic, and bronze are selected for their tactile and structural properties as much as for their cultural resonances. Through form and display, Upritchard keeps meaning open—held in a state of suspension, revision, and flux.
